Cruelty Free Skincare?

According to PETA, a Cruelty free brand is a brand whose products have not been tested on animals. Sometimes, the price we pay for beauty comes at a hefty stake.

In the past, many animals were beaten, harmed, and subjected to cruel practices while sourcing for beauty ingredients from them or testing the efficacy of beauty products on them. But nowadays, many brands are changing the narrative by  abandoning animal-cruelty.

"Cruelty-free" commercial products came to light to put a halt to animal cruelty. And such products are safe for you and our environment.

We get a lot of questions about how to know if a brand is cruelty-free. Here are some ways to identify one.

  • List of ingredients
  • Leaping Bunny symbol
  • Ingredients listing

Always ensure to look out for presence of common animal-derived ingredients such as;

  • Squalane
  • Carmine
  • Elastin
  • Collagen
  • Estrogen
  • Glucosamine
  • Tallow
  • Ambergris

If you notice any of the ingredients above on a product listing, it is not cruelty-free.

Leaping Bunny Certification

As an ethical shopper, you should look out for the Leaping Bunny Logo in the packaging of products you want to buy. You may also check out the websites of brands which claim to have this logo.

The Leaping Bunny Logo is the only internationally recognized logo that confirms that no animal testing were carried out during the formulation of the products or any ingredients used.

Our brand is a Leaping Bunny certified brand. Our range of products are all natural, cruelty free, plant based, organic, and safe. A wide array of our ingredients are indigenous to Northern California, sourced locally to where they are made to advance sustainability and elevate our local community.
