How to use

1. Preparation:

  • Start with clean hands and a clean Gua Sha tool.
  • If using Gua Sha for the face, apply a small amount of facial oil or moisturizer to the clean, dry skin to help the tool glide smoothly.

2. Choose Your Area:

  • Decide whether you want to use the Gua Sha on your face or body. It can be used on various parts of the body, including the neck, shoulders, back, arms, and legs.

3. Holding the Gua Sha:

  • Hold the Gua Sha tool with a firm but gentle grip, ensuring that the curved edge is in contact with your skin.

4. Technique:

  • Using light to medium pressure, gently scrape the Gua Sha tool across the skin in long, upward strokes.
  • Always move the tool in one direction, never back and forth. The direction of your strokes should go towards the heart. For example, on the face, stroke from the center of the forehead down to the hairline, from the nose to the ear, and from the chin to the jawline.

5. Multiple Passes:

  • You can make multiple passes over the same area, overlapping slightly if needed, to maximize the massage effect.
  • It's normal to see a light redness or "sha" on the skin, but avoid causing pain or excessive redness.

6. Relaxation:

  • Take your time, and use slow, deliberate movements. Gua Sha is a massage technique that should be relaxing, not rushed.

7. Switch Sides or Areas:

  • If you're using Gua Sha on your face, switch to the other side of the face or different areas (e.g., neck, décolletage) if desired.
  • For body Gua Sha, move to other parts of the body, maintaining the upward stroking motion.

8. Clean the Gua Sha Tool:

  • After use, clean the Gua Sha tool with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to remove any oil or debris.

9. Post-Massage Care:

  • Apply a moisturizer or any skincare products you prefer to nourish the skin after the massage.

10. Store the Gua Sha Tool:

  • Keep your Gua Sha tool in a clean, dry place.
